RHBA helps the needy this holiday

With the holidays upon us, and many struggling to pay their bills, the Richmond Hill Block Association (RHBA) wants you to know that it is there to help.
The RHBA has a small pantry on site, said President Wendy Bowne, who noted that, “We’ve noticed a lot more people coming in since layoffs [began] and the economy [took a downturn].”
At the RHBA’s most recent meeting, attendees contributed non-perishable food items and new, unwrapped toys for the needy.
The collections — in conjunction with local schools — said Bowne, will go through December 16.
In addition, the John Bowne High School Air Force ROTC has been helping with the toy drive and is collecting food as well.
If you’d like to help the less fortunate, visit the RHBA at 110-08 Jamaica Avenue, or call 718-849-3759.
