Good police work leads to arrest in shooting

On Sunday, November 30, police officers from the 106th Precinct responded to a call of a male shot at 77th Street and Liberty Avenue. Upon arrival the officers observed an individual bleeding from his left arm. He was accompanied by a witness.
Both the victim and the witness said that the suspect, a male Hispanic, according to cops, shot the victim in the left arm and fled east on Liberty Avenue. The witness provided a description of the perp: dressed in a white hooded sweater and black skull cap with a firearm in his waistband.
Following the statements, a crime scene was established and a level 1 mobilization was activated and a canvass of the area, from Rockaway Boulevard to North Conduit Avenue, 70th Street to 88th Street was conducted, producing positive results — the identification and apprehension of the suspect on 101st Avenue.
