Man stopped by cops speeds off

According to documents obtained from the office of the district attorney, John Fitzgerald, 46, was observed at Peconic and Centerville Streets urinating next to his vehicle on January 8. When an officer of the 106th Precinct approached him, he pleaded, “Just let me go home,” at which time he got in his car and drove away.
The cop followed in pursuit as Fitzgerald allegedly sped down streets, running stop signs and going the wrong way down a one-way street. When he was apprehended, Fitzgerald told the officer, “I was just scared I didn’t know what to do.” He was arraigned on $500 bail.
