LaGuardia CC gets new Veep

LaGuardia Community College recently named E. Ramone Segree vice president for Institutional Advancement.
Segree, an expert of philanthropy and volunteerism for more than 25 years, will not only be in charge of marketing and fundraising, but he will also be responsible for establishing relationships with LaGuardia’s external constituencies.
“I am looking forward to serving and building upon the successes of this dynamic institution during this important period in its history,” said Segree.
Prior to taking the position at LaGuardia, Segree had a wealth of experience with other development efforts in several institutions. He served as a senior vice president for institutional advancement at Meharry Medical College in Tennessee and acted as senior director of development at the University of Pittsburgh. He currently works as a faculty member in the fundraising management program at Columbia University.
In addition, Segree was also the president of Segree Associates, a fundraising counsel and strategic-management organization. Since Segree Associates opened in 2002, it provided academic, cultural, health and human services as well as human rights organizations. Segree Associates has also gathered more than $100 million in fundraising campaigns.
“We are delighted that Mr. Segree is joining out team,” said LaGuardia Community College President Gail Mellow. “Mr. Segree will lead a campaign to promote greater knowledge and visibility for LaGuardia’s award- winning programs, its outstanding faculty and its exceptional workforce and economic development activities.”
