Homework Club
On Friday, May 1 at 2:30 p.m., Pomonok Library will present Homework Club. Monday to Friday Homework Club is from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Kids will concentrate on their homework or read in a group environment. Laptop computers will be taken out, when the Program Room is available. Lightsaber Combat Workshop
On Sunday, May 3 at 2 p.m., Kew Gardens Hills Library will present Lightsaber Combat Workshop. Ages 9 to 14 will learn to duel with lightsabers by working with members of the New York Jedi Association. Freedom Quilts
On Monday, May 4 at 4 p.m., Baisley Park Library will present Freedom Quilts. Queens Library and The Long Island Children’s Museum presents Freedom Quilts. Discover the stories that quilts told in the days of the Underground Railroad. Before America’s Civil War, quilt patterns and symbols communicated messages that helped runaway slaves on their journey north.
