Darryl Littlejohn, the Jamaica man who is already serving a lengthy prison sentence for kidnapping a York College female student nearly four years ago, will be spending the rest of his natural life behind bars for killing another co-ed.
Littlejohn, 44, was sentenced to life in prison without parole in Brooklyn Supreme Court Wednesday for killing and sexual assaulting Imette St. Guillen in February 2006, the Brooklyn district attorney’s office said.
St. Guillen, 24, a graduate student at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, was at the SoHo bar called the Falls, where Littlejohn worked as a bouncer, on Feb. 25, 2006 one day before her beaten body was found abandoned in a ditch in Brooklyn.
The bouncer, who was in and out of prison on various convictions, took the young woman to his Jamaica home where he sexually abused her and beat her to death. Cell phone records produced during the jury trial showed that Littlejohn transported the student’s body to the ditch off the Belt Parkway from his house.
Investigators also discovered his DNA in the area where the corpse was found and on St. Guillen’s body.
The homicide took place four months after Littlejohn kidnapped York College student Shanai Woodard while she was on her way back from classe Posing as a law enforcement official,the bouncer approached Woodard, handcuffed her, beat her and threw her into his van.
The student escaped while the vehicle was in motion and identified him as her kidnapper in a lineup after he was arrested in St. Guillen’s murder. He was convicted of the kidnapping in Queens Supreme Court in October and later sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.
Woodard testified against Littlejohn during the St. Guillen trial.
