106th PRECINCT
Two perps went on a crime spree of sorts on Monday, November 16.
According to police, beginning at 11 a.m., the two suspects, one from Brooklyn, one from 165th Avenue and Foch Street, robbed a man at 131st Street and 103rd Avenue. A witness picked up the victim, and the two attempted to follow the perps as they fled in a gray van.
While fleeing, the suspects hit a car at a stop sign at 132nd Street and 103rd Avenue. They got out of their vehicle and proceed to pull out a gun and carjack a third driver, whose car they crashed into a parked BMW on 129th Street.
The perps then fled on foot – in separate directions – but officers of the 106th Precinct conducted a canvass of the area. Both were apprehended – one had been hiding behind a metal gate in a backyard.
Police say the suspects are 18 and 26 years old. The former has five prior arrests, including for gun possession, robbery and drugs; the 26-year-old has nine priors.
The victim’s possessions were found in the gray van, and the pair is charged with robbery in the first degree, criminal possession of a weapon, grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.
