102nd Precinct
Mauricio Rosales, 32, of Jamaica Avenue in Woodhaven, was arrested by the NYPD’s Special Victim’s Squad for two sexual assaults that occurred in the confines of the 102nd Precinct in 2000 and 2003.
Rosales had been picked up for grand larceny in July of 2009 for stealing money from the restaurant where he worked and a DNA sample was obtained. This DNA sample matched the DNA evidence which was previously recovered from the two sexual assaults, the first of which occurred in October 2000 when he raped and robbed an 11-year-old while her parents slept.
The second incident occurred three years later in Kew Gardens when he forced a 19-year-old woman off her porch and into a driveway, where he raped and robbed her as well.
Currently, other crimes that may be linked to this suspect are also being investigated.
