Arrest in 2007 dismembering

Edwin Fuentes, 42, arrested for the June 2007 murder of his wife – whose dismembered remains were found in a suitcase in Forest Park – was walked out of the 102nd Precinct on Thursday, February 18.
According to reports, Fuentes was arrested last week outside a real estate office in Ozone Park. He had allegedly long been suspected of the crime.
A police source told The Courier that Fuentes is charged with murder in the second degree and tampering with evidence for killing Reyna De Los Santos, 43, a mother of two from Woodhaven.
Her remains were discovered by children in Forest Park in March 2008.
The source went on to say that the case will soon be presented to a grand jury.
