Assemblymember Audrey Pheffer was pleased to meet with retired Colonel James D. McDonough, Jr., Director of the New York State Division of Veterans’ Affairs, during a recent Assembly Veterans’ Affairs Committee meeting.
McDonough and the Committee members discussed funding for the agency in the 2010-2011 New York State budget, as well as programs being offered to veterans, including how to proceed after being discharged from the military.
“It was wonderful to be able to discuss firsthand with the Director the successes and challenges facing the Division of Veterans’ Affairs, as well as to receive some information on the wonderful programs that are being offered to help our veterans,” said Pheffer.
