Flushing man accused of wrecking father’s home: DA

FLUSHING — A Flushing man is accused of severely damaging his father’s Flushing home following a dispute over water, the Queens district attorney’s office said.

John Labarca, 25, called his father on Feb. 2 and allegedly threatened him, according to the DA’s office.

“If you don’t turn on the water, then I will wreck your house,” he said, according to the DA’s office.

When the father returned to his home at 45-35 169th St. at about 6:30 that evening, he found his son had made good on the promise, according to the DA’s office, as there were numerous holes in the walls of his house, a door was hanging by one hinge, a chair had been broken and a door frame had been ripped off.

John Labarca was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment and released on his own recognizance, the DA said.
