House of the Week

Woodhaven, once known as Woodville is a middle-class neighborhood, tucked away south of the Forest Park Golf Course. The name came from the fact that it is one of the more thoroughly wooded areas of the borough, with many streets lined with towering sycamore trees.
Bordered on the north by Forest Park and the west by Brooklyn, Richmond Hill and Atlantic Avenue mark Woodhaven’s limits east and south, respectively. Jamaica Avenue’s commercial strip forms the axis of the neighborhood.
This 11-room, two-family detached colonial is on a tree-lined street just three blocks from the park, on a 25 x 100 lot in School District 27.
It features a two-bedroom, one bath residence on the first floor, with a living room and formal dining room.
Upstairs, there’s a bedroom, bath, living and dining rooms on the second floor and two bedrooms on a third floor. The house has single-zone gas heat, and a new gas furnace with a separate hot water heater.
The tenants in the building are due to leave by March 8, according to the owner’s representative. Taxes are listed at $3,100 and the selling price is $385,000.
