Just two days before Mother’s Day, Consuela Sanchez, a mother of 13, was struck and killed by an MTA?bus as she crossed Lefferts and Rockaway Boulevards.
Sanchez, 81, seen with her daughter Mercedes Hendrickson in this undated photo, was pronounced dead.
“At 10:03 a.m., a Q10 was making a left turn from Rockaway Boulevard on to Lefferts Boulevard and struck a female pedestrian crossing in front of the bus from left to right. EMS transported her to Jamaica Hospital where we are told she expired at 10:29 a.m. No charges have been filed against the bus operator,”?read a statement from MTA NYC Transit.
