According to a Quinnipiac University Poll released on Tuesday, June 22, Democratic candidate for governor Andrew Cuomo has a 72 – 16 percent approval rating and leads in the general election over all his possible Republican opponents. Cuomo leads 58 – 26 percent over Republican Rick Lazio, compared to 55 – 26 percent April 13; 59 – 23 percent over Republican Carl Paladino, compared to 60 – 24 percent. Lazio tops Paladino in a Republican primary 46 – 17 percent, with 28 percent undecided.

Bryan Pu-Folkes, who was considering a run for Assembly in District 39 before withdrawing and making the road easier for favorite Francisco Moya, has decided to run for Democratic State Committeeperson, who will represent Democrats in the neighborhoods of Corona, Elmhurst and Jackson Heights in the 39th Assembly District.
