Cops catch jewelry thieves

Minutes after Taquan Mack and Dominick Caraballo, both 22, held up Punjab Jewelers at gunpoint, officers of the 102nd Precinct apprehended them.

During the robbery, on August 16, one of the owners of the store struggled with one of the three suspects, but was injured.

The perps ordered everyone downstairs, where they made the owners open the glass jewelry cases and took numerous items before fleeing.

Video surveillance showed Mack and Caraballo, along with the other unapprehended suspect, and police recovered the $3,000 worth of jewels, along with a .38 caliber revolver, when the two were arrested.

Both Mack and Caraballo are charged with robbery, criminal possession of a weapon, grand larceny and endangering the welfare of a child.
