Discover Queens Restaurant Week has already surpassed last year’s total participants with almost a full month left to sign up. With the current total at 86 participating eateries, Michelle Stoddart of the Queens Economic Development Corporation believes they can reach a figure over 100.
“We hope to have over 100 in the bag,” said Stoddart, who considers the figures to be a sign of good things to come for Queens.
Along with participation from restaurants like Bella Via in Long Island City and El Coyote in Jackson Heights, restaurant week is pleased to have a new corporate sponsor in JetBlue Airways. They will join other sponsors like TD Bank, which has been dedicated to the promotion for the past several years.
“We are very happy to have JetBlue sponsor restaurant week,” said Stoddart.
A formal announcement of Discover Queens Restaurant Week will be held on September 14 outside of Queens Borough Hall and will feature tastings from some participating eateries.
