Solar panels atop headquarters

Fresh Meadows – Jerry Pindus, CEO of U.S. Energy Group, unveiled new solar panels on the top of his headquarters located at 78-40 164th Street in Fresh Meadows. They will provide 17-20 percent of the buildings common-use space electricity.

The system is projected to prevent the production of approximately 27,139 pounds of carbon dioxide a year.

According to Pindus, the panels took a year and a half to build and cost $250 thousand with $100 thousand coming from a state subsidy.
