Discover Queens Restaurant Week will officially begin with a bang on September 14 at Queens Borough Hall Plaza at 11 a.m.
Members of the Queens Economic Development Corporation (QEDC), Borough President Helen Marshall and representatives from sponsors TD Bank and JetBlue Airlines will be on hand for the formal launch of restaurant week and a mini-tasting featuring some of the specialty items from participating restaurants.
“We expect a large turn out with a lot of new restaurants participating,” said Michelle Stoddart, director of marketing and tourism at the QEDC. “Restaurant week is reaching more neighborhoods, more ethnic restaurants . . . we are excited to offer more choices.”
So far, 110 restaurants have signed up to offer exciting deals and discounted menu items. There is still time to sign-up and take part in a celebration of Queens eateries. Anyone interested in participating in the seventh annual Discover Queens Restaurant Week can call the QEDC at 718-263-0546. Restaurant week begins on September 20-23 and September 27-30.
