If you’re a business owner who wants to save on utilities, moving expenses, real estate taxes or labor costs, then you don’t want to miss the Energy and Financial Incentives seminar on Tuesday, October 19.
The interactive seminar, which will bring together leaders from the private sector and government agencies, will break down complicated information that business owners may not be aware of and give them information on financial incentives that could save them a great deal of money.
“The Chamber is always looking for ways to keep our members informed about programs and services to lower their operation costs and give them a leg up on their competitors,” said Drew Manger, who is the Chair of the Chamber’s Business and Industry Committee.
The FREE seminar, will take place on October 19 at the Buolva Corporate Center beginning at 8 a.m. with breakfast and networking and the seminar will begin at 8:30 a.m.
“We’re trying to do a public business outreach to help businesses be more effective,” said Hank Auffarth, Senior Vice President of Think Forward Financial, who was instrumental in putting together the seminar with the Chamber, and he will emcee the seminar.
Panelists including Heidi Springer, NYEDC and Peter Curry, Farrell Fritz on Industrial Development Authority; Chet Sadowski, New York Business Development Corporation on 504/SBA7A; Don Giampietro, NYC SBS on ECSP/ICAP/REAP/Energy; and Phil London, Wiss & Company on Excelsior.
Meanwhile, a number of speakers will also discuss energy topics. Some of those speakers will be Saveria Grosso, ENERActive Solutions; Emma Bassein, NYSERDA; David Weiss, Mercury Solar Systems; Jessica DiDonato, Con Ed; Paul Morisi, National Grid.
Panelists will talk about ways to save money focusing on utilities, interest expense, real estate taxes, labor costs, moving expenses and buying/building and expanding. In addition, they will take questions and be available to speak with individuals on a one-on-one basis to answer specific questions.
“Hopefully there will be businesses that will be able to make capital improvements or buy new equipment to help them expand,” Manger said.
In addition, all attendees will leave the seminar with a free resource gift bag that contains the book Queens Connects, which Auffarth put together.
The seminar will also feature some great door prizes, with one lucky person winning two round trip domestic airline tickets courtesy of Southwest Airlines.
