Accident leaves three-year-old girl in hospital
A three-year-old girl, her brother and mother were hit by a car in Woodhaven – leaving the toddler in a fight for her life.
On Wednesday, October 27, police responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a pedestrian struck at the intersection of 81st Street and 101st Avenue. Police determined that a 2003 Jaguar driven by a 53-year-old woman traveling northbound on 81st Street and turning left onto 101st Avenue hit the family.
Nussat Anjum Zaman, 26, her son Arman, 5, and daughter Nilay were struck. The mother and son were taken to Jamaica Hospital with head, leg and chest lacerations, both in stable condition. The girl was taken to Jamaica Hospital with head and chest trauma before being transferred to New York Hospital.
There is no suspected criminality at this time and the investigation is ongoing. The driver was not charged.
