Vallo is best in the bus biz

A superior safety record, on-time performance and a history of community outreach has garnered Vallo Transportation Ltd. – an independent school bus company – “Bus Contractor of the Year” by the New York State Bus Contractors Association (NYSBCA). Linda DeSabato, president of Vallo, says the award belongs to the workers.
“Everyone working at Vallo Transportation had a role in winning this award, from the drivers who safely carry hundreds of children to and from school every day to the mechanics that keep the buses on the road and the office staff that makes sure all of our customers’ needs are addressed,” DeSabato said. “It takes a team effort to provide the outstanding customer service Vallo Transportation is known for and I think we have the best team in the industry.”
Based out of College Point, Vallo operates a fleet of more than 50 buses that carry children living in Queens to private schools and magnet schools in Manhattan and the Bronx. Summer service is available for most routes and charter service is offered for field trips, community organizations and other events. Their origin dates back more than 50 years to Eddie and Tony Vallone, the founders of Parkway Bus Service, which provided transportation services to New York City school children.
“We’re extremely honored to be recognized for our commitment to providing safe, reliable bus service for children throughout Queens,” said DeSabato.
The NYSBCA is an organization comprising over 200 school bus companies in New York State. According to www.nysbca.com, private school bus companies are responsible for transporting over 1.3 million children a day, in approximately 28,000 school vehicles, in over 350 school districts – representing nearly 60 percent of the students transported in New York State.
