In celebration of its 25th anniversary, the Greater Astoria Historical Society (GAHS) held a holiday party on Monday, December 6 that featured the music of saw player Natalia Peruz, known as “the saw lady.” The celebration also included refreshments and a book talk and signing for Then & Now: Long Island City.
Chartered in 1985, the society is “dedicated to preserving our past and using it to promote our community’s future.” This is done in part through tours, lectures and exhibitions, among other activities.
GAHS is located at 35-20 Broadway, fourth floor, in Long Island City. For more information, visit www.astorialic.org or call 718-278-0700.
