Successful toy drive at Family Care Center

Heaps of various children’s toys and warm winter jackets sat in a nook of Dr. Robert Mittman’s Allergy & Asthma Family Care Center waiting room; each part of Assemblymember Ann-Margaret Carrozza’s sponsored holiday gift drive for war veterans and abused and neglected children.
“We’ve continued to have a very successful year,” Mittman said about the annual toy drive. “These toys will go to numerous charities and children organizations and there’s still time to donate.”
Toy donations have been provided to organizations including Anibic, Briarwood Family Residence, Cohen Children’s Medical Center, Life’s WORC, Queens Children’s Psychiatric Center, New York Hospital of Queens FreeMAT, Ronald McDonald House of Long Island, Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church Toy Drive, St. John’s Bread and Life, and St. Mary’s Hospital for Children.
“It’s been a record breaking turnout on all accounts,” said Carrozza, who has organized gift drives for the past 14 years in Bayside. “So many people came through for their neighbors.”
The last day to donate new and unwrapped toys is Friday, December 24 to Dr. Mittman’s office at 38-21 Bell Boulevard in Bayside.
