TIMELY GIFT

Congress gave the gift of peace of mind to the 2.9 million Medicare beneficiaries in NY State this holiday season by passing legislation preventing a 25 percent pay cut to Medicare doctors starting on January 1, 2011. They voted, nearly unanimously, to stop a drastic physician pay cut that might have driven more doctors out of the Medicare program.
Kudos to the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) members for waging an all out call and email war against this potentially devastating proposal which threatened seniors’ access to the doctors who care for them.
