Emergency weather declared

New York is going to be hit with yet another round of snow.
Heavy snowfall is expected for the evening rush hour, through tomorrow morning’s rush hour.
The National Weather Service is predicting eight to 12 inches of total precipitation by Thursday morning.
Gusts up to 30 to 35 mph are expected throughout the city and Long Island
The mayor’s office is urging the public to avoid all unnecessary driving for the duration of the storm and until further directed, and to use public transportation wherever possible. Drivers are advised to use extreme caution.

As of this afternoon, weather conditions have caused delays and disruptions in flight activity and travelers are urged to check with their airlines before traveling to the airports.

Any vehicle found to be blocking roadways or impeding the ability to plow streets shall be subject to towing at the owner’s expense.
Effective immediately, alternate side parking, payment at parking meters and garbage collections are suspended citywide until further notice.
