Robber cuts victim’s pocket with razor: DA

ASTORIA — A Brooklyn teen was arrested last week for allegedly robbing a straphanger with a razor blade, the Queens district attorney’s office said.

Abdul Moazb, 17, of Prospect Heights, was arraigned Feb. 13 on several charges, including criminal possession of a weapon and attempted grand larceny, the Queens DA’s office said.

A police officer observed Moazb standing beside a rider on the N train that was traveling at the Ditmars Boulevard stop earlier that morning and cutting the rider’s pants pocket with a razor blade to steal his iPhone, the criminal complaint said.

When the officer arrested the teen, he allegedly found two credit cards that belonged to another person who reported that his pockets were cut while he rode the N train and his wallet was stolen, according to the criminal complaint.
