When I ran for office a couple of years ago, I took the position that no structures built by taxpayer funds should be named after any politician, dead or alive. After all, politicians are paid quite well and receive great benefits for their mostly part-time service and do not need to be idolized with the naming of iconic structures.
By the way, isn’t there already a bridge named after former Mayor Ed Koch — the “Koch-ciuszko,” connecting Queens and Brooklyn?
