Cruising for animal charity

They set sail to raise money for all those orphaned and abused animals.
The first annual Charity Dinner Dance for Bobbi & the Strays Animal Shelter recently sailed New York City’s East River aboard the Marco Polo Cruise Ship “Jewel Yacht.”
With a view of Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty, patrons danced away, keeping in mind that proceeds will go to help orphaned or abused dogs and cats.
“Bobbi and the Strays believes that animals deserve our love, compassion and respect,” said Roberta “Bobbi” Giordano, founder. “Our purpose is to undertake rescue operations and to provide essential care for orphaned, stray, abused and special needs cats and dogs. Through rehabilitation, socialization and adoption, we endeavor to provide humane services to all animals that come into our care. Additionally, we generate awareness about the prevention of animal abuse and neglect as well as spay/neuter programs and their important effect on the dog and cat overpopulation crisis.”
There will also be a “California Pizza Kitchen FUNdraiser” all day Tuesday, July 12.
From 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., visit the California Pizza Kitchen in The Shops at Atlas Park, 71-03 80th Street, Glendale, and 20 percent of your bill gets donated to Bobbi & the Strays.
If you want to help these animals, visit Bobbi & the Strays Animal Shelter in Middle Village or Nassau County, or go to the web site, https://www.bobbiandthestrays.org/Visit_Us.aspx
