Chris Hansen’s op-ed article, “Hugh Carey and Willowbrook” (8/18/11) should be a guest op-ed in every news media publication in the country! This extremely well-written tribute to Hugh Carey eloquently describes a triumph over ignorance, the aggregate human pain and suffering of which, is unimaginable.
The fact that Hansen was a part of this triumph, having been with the NYCLU as one the lawyers representing the residents of Willowbrook, is all the more reason for recommending nationwide publication.
