Candidate has no MetroCard

No wonder clubhouse Democratic candidate for Congress David Weprin missed the Monday night August 28 debate sponsored by the Juniper Park Civic Association and neighborhood newspaper – The Times Newsweekly. In a recent debate hosted by The New York Daily News he was asked to show his Metro Card. David Weprin doesn’t have a MetroCard.
Unlike millions of ordinary New Yorkers who use their own MTA MetroCards on a daily basis to get around town, Weprin couldn’t find one in his wallet.
As former NYC Council Finance Committee Chairperson and NYC Councilmember from 2002 to 2009, he drove to work and parked his car in a free spot at City Hall. He does the same when commuting to Albany.
Unlike several hundred thousand potential constituents of the Brooklyn Queens 9th Congressional District who ride the MTA on a daily basis and know how to use a MetroCard – Weprin has never ventured onto a bus or subway.
On September 13, Election Day, voters should use their MetroCards and travel to their local polling site and send Weprin a message!
