Defective Strollers, Helmets and Hardware Top Recall List

RECALL ALERT

The U. S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the following recalls for various safety risks to the public:

Target Corporation has recalled approximately 139,000 units of Circo 17″ Children’s Travel Cases for excessive levels of lead, which violate the federal lead paint standard.

The product was manufactured in China and sold exclusively at Target stores nationwide from April 201 through August 2011. For additional information, contact Target at 1-800- 440-0680.

Bugaboo Bee Strollers have been recalled due to fall hazards. About 7,000 of the product were removed in the U.S. and 260 in Canada.

The front swivel wheels can lock while the stroller is in motion, causing the stroller to tip, posing an injury.

The product which was manufactured in China, was sold by Toys ‘R’ Us, Buy Buy Baby and other baby product stores nationwide.

Bugaboo has also recalled a car seat adapter which is used on a stroller that has a wheeled board accessory attached for transporting a standing toddler. The car seat can disconnect from the adapter and fall causing an injury.

The product was sold at Babies ‘R’ Us, Buy Buy Baby, Neiman Marcus, and other department stores and independent juvenile stores.

Bicycle helmets have been recalled by Triple Eight Distribution due to risk of head injury. About 30,400 of the helmets demonstrated during product testing that the helmets do not comply with CPSC safety standards for impact resistance. The recalled items are multi-purpose helmets and Little Tricky helmets are marketed for children and youth.

They were sold at bicycle and sports stores and other retailers nationwide and were manufactured in China.

Navien Instantaneous or Tankless Water Heaters have been recalled due to an unstable connection that can cause the water heater’s vent collar to separate or detach if pressure is applied.

A detached vent collar poses a risk of carbon monoxide poisoning to the consumer.

Manufactured in South Korea and sold to in-home installers nationwide for $1,500 to $2,100, consumers should contact Navien at 1-800-244- 8201 to schedule a free repair.

Colorful Hearts Teddy Bears manufactured in China for Build-ABear Workshop have been recalled after it was reported that thee teddy bear’s eyes could loosen and fall out, posing a choking hazard to children. Approximately 284,000 units were distributed in the U.S. and 13,200 in Canada.

The Colorful Hearts Teddy is a stuffed animal about 16 inches high with black plastic eyes. The bear’s fabric covering is printed with multicolored heart shapes. Consumers can take the recalled teddy bear and return it to any Build-A-Bear store to receive a coupon for any available stuffed animal as replacement, for additional information call 1-866-236-5683.

Children’s fleece robes distributed by Hanna Andersson of Portland, Ore. and manufactured in China were recalled when they failed to meet the federal flammability standards for children’s sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injury to children.

The robes, which sold for about $50 can be brought back to the store for a refund, exchange or store credit, or call Hanna Andersson at 1-800- 222-0544 for further information.

Rayovac NI-CD Cordless Tool Battery Packs have been recalled due to reports that the replacement battery pack can explode unexpectedly, posing a risk of serious injury.

Sold exclusively at BatteriesPlus retail stores nationwide and online, the product was manufactured in China and sold for about $60.
