A resident was hospitalized with smoke inhalation after a one-alarm fire engulfed a building in Bushwick last Friday night, Jan. 6, it was reported. Fire Department sources said the blaze broke out at around 9 p.m. inside the basement of a fourstory apartment house on Linden Street near Irving Avenue. Responding to the scene (in the order of their arrival) were members of Engine companies 277, 271, 218 and 222; Ladder companies 124, 140 and 176; Squad Co. 252; Rescue 2 and Battalions 28 and 37-under the direction of Division 11-along with the 83rd Precinct and EMS units. The resident was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries not considered to be life-threatening. Two hose lines were used by firefighters to bring the blaze under control, FDNY sources said.
