SPRINGFIELD GARDENS — Investigators used extensive detective work to apprehend last week a man who was wanted in a string of robberies in southeast Queens since October, police said.
Gregory “Bubba” Kennedy, 31, of 130th Avenue and 226th Street, was arraigned on 11 counts of robbery following his arrest Jan. 3 and is currently being held without bail at Rikers Island, police said.
Kennedy allegedly stole more than $11,000 from several businesses in Jamaica, Hollis and Springfield Gardens between Oct. 11 and Dec. 30, according to investigators.
During each of the incidents, several of which took place at either T-Mobile or Dunkin’ Donuts stores, Kennedy displayed a firearm before demanding cash, police said. No shots were fired and no one was hurt during the ordeals, according to investigators.
Police were able to use surveillance footage from one of the robberies and fingerprints lifted from a half pint bottle of Paul Masson Grande Amber Brandy to identify Kennedy as the suspect responsible for all of the crimes.
On Jan. 3, officers stopped a black Chevrolet Impala on 130th Avenue in Springfield Gardens and recognized the driver as Kennedy, according to police.
