Holiday Service
All New York City subway lines will operate on a regular weekday schedule on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 16. All buses operated by MTA New York City and the MTA Bus Company will also operate a normal weekday schedule this Monday; however, there will be no limited-stop bus service on the Q6, Q21, Q25 and Q65 bus lines.
While most regular schedules will be in effect on Monday, riders are advised that there may be slightly longer wait times on some routes.
Subway Changes
The MTA has scheduled a number of service changes for several subway lines throughout the city due to construction work.
These service advisories are current as of Wednesday, Jan. 11. Last minute changes to service and operating schedules may be made due to weather-related conditions or emergency repairs. Check www.mta.info for schedule changes.
Rail lines which run through the area that will be affected include the following:
Weekend Shutdown On L Line In Bklyn.
L train service will be suspended between Broadway Junction and Lorimer Street this weekend, from 12:01 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, until 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16. During this period, L trains will operate in two sections- between Eighth Avenue and Lorimer Street and between Broadway Junction and Rockaway Parkway.
Free shuttle buses will provide alternate service to closed stations on the L line. Riders can transfer between the shuttle buses and the L train at Lorimer Street; and the A, C, J and L trains at Broadway Junction.
The shuttle buses will stop at closed L train stations as follows:
– Broadway Junction-on Fulton Street at Van Sinderen Avenue;
– Bushwick Avenue-Aberdeen Street-on Bushwick Avenue at De- Sales Place (to Broadway Junction) or at Aberdeen Street (to Lorimer Street);
– Wilson Avenue-on Cooper Street at Wilson Avenue (to Broadway Junction) or on Decatur Street at Wilson Avenue (to Lorimer Street);
– Halsey Street-on Wyckoff Avenue at Weirfield Street;
– Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues-on Wyckoff Avenue at Myrtle Avenue;
– DeKalb Avenue-on Wyckoff Avenue at DeKalb Avenue;
– Jefferson Street-on Wyckoff Avenue at Starr Street;
– Morgan Avenue-on Morgan Avenue at Harrison Place (to Broadway Junction) or on Harrison Place at Morgan Avenue (to Lorimer Street);
– Montrose Avenue-on Bushwick Avenue at Montrose Avenue;
– Grand Street-on Bushwick Avenue at Grand Street;
– Graham Avenue-on Metropolitan Avenue at Graham Avenue; and
– Lorimer Street-on Metropolitan Avenue at Union Avenue.
Additionally, L train service will operate in two sections-between Eighth Avenue and Broadway Junction and between Broadway Junction and Rockaway Parkway-on Tuesday, Jan. 17, and Wednesday, Jan. 18, from 10:15 a.m. until 3:05 p.m. Riders can transfer between L trains at Broadway Junction to continue their trip.
It was noted that L trains between Rockaway Parkway and Broadway Junction will operate every 24 minutes. Riders are advised to plan their trips accordingly.
Another Overnight Closure On 7 Line
There will be no 7 train service between Queensboro Plaza and Times Square-42nd Street on Tuesday, Jan. 17, from 12:01 until 5 a.m. During this period, 7 trains will operate between Queensboro Plaza and Main Street-Flushing.
For service between Queens and Manhattan transfer from the 7 train to the N train at either Queensboro Plaza or Times Square or the E train at 74th Street.
During this time period, free shuttle buses will provide alternate service along the 7 line between Queensboro Plaza and Vernon Boulevard- Jackson Avenue. These buses will additionally stop at Queens Plaza for E train service.
The shuttle buses will stop as follows:
– Queensboro Plaza-on Queens Plaza South at 27th Avenue;
– Queens Plaza-on Jackson Avenue at Queens Plaza South;
– Court Square-23rd Street-on 44th Drive at 23rd Street (to Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue) or on 23rd Street at 44th Drive (to Queensboro Plaza);
– Hunters Point Avenue-on 21st Street at 49th Avenue; and
– Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue- on Vernon Boulevard at 50th Avenue.
Weekday Express On J Line In Brooklyn
Jamaica Center-bound J trains will operate express service between Myrtle Avenue and Broadway Junction on Thursday, Jan. 12, Friday, Jan. 13, and Wednesday, Jan. 18, through Friday, Jan. 20, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
For service to the Kosciuszko Street, Gates Avenue, Halsey Street and Chauncey Street stations, take the J train to Broadway Junction, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound J train. For service from these stations, take the J train to Myrtle Avenue, then transfer to a Jamaica Center-bound J train.
Late Night Switches On E Train This Week
E trains will be rerouted between Queens and Manhattan weeknights on Thursday, Jan. 12, and Friday, Jan. 13, from 11:30 p.m. until 5 a.m.; and this weekend, from 12:01 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, until 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16.
Between 10 p.m. and midnight, Manhattan-bound E trains will run on the F line between 36th Street in Queens and West Fourth Street, then resume normal service to the World Trade Center. At the same time, Jamaica Center-bound E trains will run on the F line between West Fourth Street and 21st Street-Queensbridge, then resume normal service to Parsons/ Archer.
Then from 12:01 until 5 a.m., Manhattan-bound E trains will run on the F line between 36th Street in Queens and Second Avenue in Manhattan, where service will terminate. Jamaica Center-bound E trains will originate on the F line at Second Avenue in Manhattan and run on the route to 21st Street-Queensbridge before switching onto the E line for normal service to Parsons/Archer.
For service to the Court Square- 23rd Street and Queens Plaza stations, transfer to the 7 or R trains at Roosevelt Avenue.
No Weekend A Trains Run To Far Rockaway
There will be no A train service between
Broad Channel and Far Rockaway this weekend, from 11 p.m. Friday night, Jan. 13, until 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16.
During this disruption, A trains will replace the Rockaway Park shuttle and operate between Broad Channel and Rockaway Park. Shuttle buses will make all stops on the A line between Broad Channel and Far Rockaway (Mott Avenue, Beach 25th Street, Beach 36th Street, Beach 44th Street, Beach 60th Street, Beach 67th Street and Beach 90th Street).
Riders can transfer between the A train and the shuttle bus at Beach 90th Street.
N Trains Skip Stops In Astoria Weekdays
Astoria-bound N trains will skip the 39th Avenue, 36th Avenue, Broadway and 30th Avenue stations on Thursday, Jan. 12, and Friday, Jan. 13, from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. It was noted that during this service change, Q trains will not operate between 57th Street-Seventh Avenue in Manhattan and Ditmars Boulevard in Astoria.
For service to the skipped stations, take the N train to Astoria Boulevard, then transfer to a Manhattan-bound N train. For service from these stations, take the N train to Queensboro Plaza, then transfer to an Astoria-bound N train.
