Three Sought for Iphone Thefts at Subway Stops

Struck At Stations In Astoria, Manhattan

Police are searching for three male suspects wanted for stealing iPhones from passengers on city subways in Queens and Manhattan.

The three men shown in surveillance camera footage here are wanted by police for the thefts of iPhones from victims at subway stops in Astoria and lower Manhattan.

The first three incidents occurred at the 36th Street N/Q station in Astoria, once on Dec. 16, 2011 and twice on Jan. 16 of this year, police stated.

Also on Jan. 16, the trio allegedly swiped an iPhone at the 23th Street N/R station in Manhattan.

They then returned to Astoria, this time stealing two iPhones from passengers at the 39th Street N/Q station on Jan. 26 and Jan. 31, according to police.

The final three incidents in the pattern allegedly occurred at the Prince Street N/R station in Manhattan on Feb. 5, 7 and 8.

In all the crimes, police claimed that the suspects would be riding a train in the late night or early morning hours when they would swipe iPhones from their victims (all female) and flee the station.

The suspects are described as three African-American males in their 20s. One reportedly stands 5’10”-tall, weighing 200 lbs with a white hooded sweatshirt. The second susect is said to stand 6′-tall, weighing 180 lbs. with a black hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans. The third suspect stands 6′, weighing 200 lbs. with a black American Eagle sweatshirt.
