Shot Man After Ridgewood Run-in

Still seeking the gunman who shot and injured a man during a dispute on a Ridgewood street corner earlier this month, the NYPD released a surveillance camera image last Thursday, June 14, of the perpetrator in the hope that someone will help police track him down.

The suspect behind a June 9 shooting in Ridgewood.

The shooter is described by law enforcement sources as a 22-year-old caucasian male standing at 6′-tall, weighing about 200 lbs. with curly black hair and wearing a white t-shirt.

According to authorities, the assault took place at around 2:20 a.m. on the morning of June 9 at the corner of Myrtle and Seneca avenues.

As reported in last week’s issue of the Times Newsweekly, the 22-yearold male victim was walking with his friend along Seneca Avenue when he bumped shoulders with the suspected shooter.

Law enforcement sources said the suspect and the victim exchanged words with one another. After the shooter walked across the street, it was reported, the victim allegedly challenged the shooter to a fight.

Police said the suspect then turned around and, with a handgun, fired two shots, one of which struck the victim man in the torso and back. The perpetrator fled from the scene in an unknown direction.

Members of the 104th Precinct and EMS units responded to the scene. The injured man was brought by paramedics to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by the 104th Precinct De- tective Squad, police said.
