Suspect Sought For Cypress Hills Attack
Authorities are requesting the public’s help in finding the man pictured in the security camera photo shown at right, who allegedly raped a 28-year-old woman on a Cypress Hills block earlier this month.
Law enforcement sources described the perpetrator as an African- American male in his 20s standing 5’10”-tall and weighing about 175 lbs.
Reportedly, the sexual assault took place at 3:30 a.m. on the morning of Aug. 8 in the vicinity of Fulton and Hemlock streets.
According to police, the suspect allegedly approached the 28-year-old woman and began talking with her. Moments later, they reportedly walked together along Hemlock Street.
Once they reached a secluded part of the block, law enforcement said, the perpetrator then attacked and raped her.
Later that morning, the woman was brought to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The rape was reported to the 75th Precinct.
Members of the NYPD Brooklyn Special Victims Squad are conducting an investigation into the case, police said.
