Bus Routes, College Facelift On Agenda
Plans for new buses and a new look for LaGuardia Community College will be the focus of Community Board 2′s first hearing of the new year, to be held Jan. 3, 2012 (tonight) at 7 p.m. at Sunnyside Community Services.
Joseph Raskin of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is scheduled to show the agency’s proposal for a new bus route.
While Board 2 had no further information on what the presentation will entail, the MTA has been planning to implement a new express bus route that would run between La- Guardia Airport and the Woodside/ 61st Street train hub in 2013.
Shahir Erfan, the president of La- Guardia Community College, will present plans to replace the facade of the Center C Building at 29-10 Thomson Ave.
Board 2 will also hear an application for renovating the interior and exterior of a building at 40-17 48th St. in the Sunnyside Gardens Historic District.
The meeting will also feature reports from Chairperson Joseph Conley, the heads of various committees, and an open forum.
Residents who wish to address the board at the hearing can sign up to speak for three minutes during the open forum period.
