Ridgewood Blaze Hits the Roof

Flames shot out of the rear of a two-story home in Ridgewood during a one-alarm fire early last Wednesday morning, Jan. 9, Fire Department sources said. Reportedly, the blaze broke out at around 5:15 a.m. in the vicinity of Seneca Avenue and Menahan Street. Responding to the scene (in the order of their arrival) were members of Engine comapnes 271, 277, 291 and 218; Ladder companies 124, 140 and 112; Squad Co. 242; Rescue 4 and Battalions 28 and 37-under the direction of Division 14-along with the 104th Precinct and EMS units. No injuries were reported. One hose line was used by firefighters to bring the blaze under control, an FDNY source said.
