LONG ISLAND CITY – Police identified a man killed in a motorcycle crash on Vernon Boulevard Tuesday night as 32-year-old Daniel Nieves of Ridgewood.
The NYPD said officers responded to a report of an accident at the intersection of 31st Avenue in Long Island City, near Socrates Sculpture Park, at about 10 p.m. Tuesday.
Nieves had been riding a 2011 Suzuki motorcycle while heading north on Vernon Boulevard when his bike collided with a tree, police said.
He was taken with Cornell Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the NYPD’s statement.
