Man killed by Queens cop car responding to emergency

A man is dead after a patrol car struck him at a Long Island City intersection Thursday, according to police.

Around 12:45 a.m., officers were responding to a 911 call, when their vehicle, traveling eastbound on 40th Avenue, hit an unidentified man crossing northbound between 10th and 11th streets.

EMS pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
