Congresswoman Launches Pac for Young Americans

Rep. Grace Meng launched a new political action committee (PAC) that aims to empower young people from traditionally under-served communities.

Entitled “@theTable,” the PAC will focus on opening the door and creating opportunities for the nation’s next generation of leaders, and it will work to ensure that everybody has a seat at the table, regardless of ethnicity, sex or socioeconomic status.

As described, @theTable aims to challenge the status quo and embark on Meng’s goal of encouraging robust participation and the free exchange of ideas in order to improve our communities and our nation.

The PAC will support candidates for federal office who have a proven track record of empowering the next generation; candidates who have opened the door, kept it open and reached back to help others step through.

“I cannot be more excited to announce the formation of this important PAC,” said Meng. “We will work non-stop to fill seats at the table with voices that were previously voiceless, and we’ll make every effort to ensure that all of our communities are properly represented in our government. I have no doubt that we will achieve these critical goals, and that @theTable will be an outstanding and successful vehicle for empowering our next generation of leaders.”

A leadership PAC, @theTable is registered with the Federal Elections Commission (FEC). It is based in Queens.

PACs are entities that raise campaign funds for candidates seeking public office.
