Maspeth High’s First Latin Society

Seventh-graders at St. Pancras Church in Glendale received the sacrament of Confirmation from Bishop Frank Caggiano of the Diocese of Brooklyn and Queens during a ceremony on Oct. 19 at the house of worship. The candidates for confirmation were both St. Pancras School students and youngsters in St. Pancras’ CCD program. Concelebrating the Mass with Bishop Caggiano were Msgr. Gregory Wielunski

These students were inducted into the inaugural National Junior Classical League Latin Honor Society at Maspeth High School during “Classics Week” celebrations last week, Mar. 10-14. As shown, the inaugural inductees included (in alphabetical order) Jenny Ababio, Brian Cabral, Brandon Camacho, Diego Consuegra, Liezl Del Rosario, Andrew Giakoumis, Rebecca Huerta, Michelle Lai, Kianna Lamourt, Ashling McGlone, Maggie O’Malley, Joshua Vazquez and Ciara Walsh. Not pictured are inductees Samantha Ferrufino and Sahira Younas.
