A homeless man uncovered plastic bags containing body parts in Elmhurst Saturday afternoon, according to published reports.
He made the discovery in an overgrown area around the LIRR tracks, the New York Post and AP reported.
The body parts included a skull, torso and leg bone, and it could not be determined yet if they belonged to a man or a woman, reports said.
The medical examiner is performing an autopsy Sunday, according to the New York Post.
