Victim Takes Bullet To The Leg

A teenager was shot in the leg during an argument on a Bushwick street early on Sunday morning, May 4, according to police.

Law enforcement sources said the shooting occurred at about 1:40 a.m. in the vicinity of Suydam Street and Knickerbocker Avenue.

Reportedly, the 19-year-old male victim was approached at the location by a group of unidentified suspects and became engaged in an argument.

Seconds later, authorities said, the shooter-described as a Hispanic male wearing a gray jacket and white sneakers-arrived at the scene, pulled out a handgun and opened fire, hitting the victim in the left leg.

Following the gunplay, the shooter and the unidentified group fled in an unknown direction, police noted.

Members of the 83rd Precinct and EMS units responded to the incident. Paramedics brought the injured teenager to Kings County Hospital Center, where he was treated and released.

Police units canvassed the surrounding area for evidence and possible suspects but no immediate arrests were made, it was noted.

The 83rd Precinct Detective Squad’s investigation is ongoing, police said.
