Dems Back New District Leader

Aglialoro Gets Party Nod To Replace Bornemann

Democrats in the 37th Assembly District covering parts of Ridgewood, Maspeth, Middle Village, Sunnyside, Woodside and Long Island City will soon have a new party district leader.

David Aglialoro, communications director for Assemblywoman Catherine Nolan, was endorsed by the Queens County Democratic Party as the new Part B Democratic district leader for the 37th District, which Nolan represents in Albany.

Aglialoro will replace Tom Bornemann, who served in the position since 2007. Bornemann threw his support to Aglialoro for the post; both are active members in the Ridgewood Democratic Club.

“As a life-long Queens resident, I look forward to advocating for the many Democratic voters in the area so together we can continue to keep both the Democratic Party and our community strong,” Aglialoro said in a statement.

Nolan along with Rep. Joe Crowley, who leads the Queens County Democratic Party, and Democratic District Leader Diane Ballek each support Aglialoro’s candidacy. In backing Aglialoro, Nolan also thanked Bornemann “for his years of service in helping elect more Democratic elected officials, building up the Ridgewood Democratic Club and advocating for our community.”
