Corona Man Brought Big Gun to Bklyn.

Cops Catch Him Following A Foot Pursuit

While looking to diffuse a potentially deadly fight, police in East New York collared a Corona man found in possession of a semi-automatic firearm during a dispute last Thursday afternoon, Oct. 2, according to police.

After they were approached and informed an altercation between two groups might break out, the officers observed a large group collecting near Livonia and Dumont avenues just after 4 p.m., within the confines of the 73rd Precinct, police stated.

Moving toward the assembled groups, the officers allegedly observed the suspect-Jamal Mctier, 29-unraveling a cloth with the large semi-automatic firearm inside.

They ordered the suspect to stop, but he fled into a nearby apartment building on Bristol Street and locked the door behind him, officials stated. The officers proceeded to the rear of the building, observed the suspect exiting through the back door and saw him attempting to flee and jump a fence, police said.

The officers continued to pursue the suspect, and apprehended him in front of 783 Bristol Street, police stated.

The loaded weapon was recovered in the back of the building at 390 Bristol Street, officials said. Neither of the officers were injured, and the investigation is ongoing, law enforcement sources stated.

Mctier was charged with criminal possession of a machine gun, resisting arrest and criminal trespass, law enforcement sources noted.
