Although stores opened hours before Black Friday officially began, shoppers packed shopping centers around the borough today.
Bargain-hunters at the Bay Terrace Shopping Center were a little disappointed at the sales, saying that last year, the doorbusters were, really doorbusters.
“I found the prices a little higher than last year,” said Ellen Kaznesiotis. “But I did find everything I needed, especially Christmas gifts for the family.”
The parking lot at the outdoors mall was packed during the morning and afternoon hours.
“It’s a hit or miss, basically,” said Maria Kontolemakis.
Christine Hannigan didn’t wait until Black Friday to so her shopping. She came to Bay Terrace on Thanksgiving at about 11:30 p.m.
“Only a few stores were open, but I did some shopping yesterday and continue to do so today,” she said.
