A man has been arrested for the murder of a Queens rapper who had ties to 50 Cent.
Jamal Scott, 35, is accused of fatally shooting 42-year-old Jamal Green and injuring three others the afternoon of Jan. 3 near Farmers Boulevard and 134th Avenue, police said.
Green was shot in the chest and pronounced dead at the scene, according to the NYPD.
Two of the injured victims were treated for wounds to the neck, and the third suffered a gunshot to the elbow, according to prosecutors.
Scott, along with a second individual, who is still at large, allegedly ambushed the victims while the SUV they were sitting in was pulled up to a stop sign, District Attorney Richard Brown said.
He has been charged with second-degree murder, three counts of second-degree attempted murder and four counts of criminal possession of a weapon, Brown said.
Green, a Jamaica resident, was a rapper who also went by the name Mazaradi Fox,, according to the district attorney. He had formerly been associated with 50 Cent’s G-Unit and had reportedly been a friend of the rapper.
The Daily News reported that Green helped raise D’aja “Asia” Robinson, the 14-year-old girl who was shot to death on a Queens bus in May.
