By Madina Toure

A 39-year-old man was in critical condition after he struck two light poles and a parked vehicle in Maspeth early Sunday morning, the NYPD said.

At about 4 a.m., the man, who was driving a 2010 Nissan, was found unconscious and unresponsive in the vicinity of 54th Place and Flushing Avenue, according to a police spokeswoman. He was transported to Elmhurst Hospital in critical condition.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the man was traveling westbound on Flushing Avenue at a high speed when he struck a light pole, the spokeswoman said.

His vehicle then mounted the sidewalk and struck a second light pole and a parked vehicle, she said.
